The Department of Computer Science, Nalbari College, Nalbari, has been working in the field of technological environment and trying to develop the thoughts of traditional world into a new system among the youngsters. By educating students to think conceptually, the department is preparing them to adapt to developments in this dynamic field. The study of Computer Science within a liberal arts environment hones students’ skill in problem solving, critical thinking, and clear and concise communication. Developing these skills creates students well prepared for graduate school or employment in industry.
The Department of Computer Science was started in August ,2013 under the Gauhati University and was founded by Dr. Ashok Sharma former Principal i/c, Nalbari College ,Nalbari. Initially the department was called as B.Sc-IT dept, further in 2018, renamed as Department of Computer Science. At the very beginning, department was proceeded smoothly with the help of Two (2) Faculties Mr. Dhruba Jyoti Mishra and Miss Surankana Sarma.
The Department currently offers Computer Application (Regular) in 1992, B.Sc-IT in 2013, PGDCA in 2017 and BCA in 2018 with four (4) dedicated and devoted Faculty members towards the comprehensive development of students by training them practically as well as theoretically.
